Amy Lou Adams (born August 20, 1974) is an American actress. She is best known for playing characters with cheerful and sunny dispositions such as her Academy Award-nominated role as Ashley Johnsten in Junebug and her Golden Globe Award-nominated role as Giselle in Enchanted.

Amy Adams On Her Next Role: 'It's Going To Be An Amy Adams Butt Show'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Amy Adams earned her second Oscar nomination this year for a role as a naive young nun in "Doubt," but in an interview in the February/March issue of BlackBook, she revealed that one of her upcoming roles would let audiences see a new side of her.

She'll play Amelia Earhart alongside Ben Stiller in the upcoming "A Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" -- in tight pants. "Tight jodhpurs," Amy told the mag. "It's going to be an Amy Adams butt show. I was like, 'That's a lot of information.' I'm not known for showing my ass on camera, but there it is."

Indeed, the actress -- who earned her first Oscar nom for her breakthrough role in 2005's "Junebug" -- is better known for her innocent characters than any on-screen antics. "I misbehave," she said. "I just do it in private."

Amy Adams Joins the Cast of David O. Russell's The Fighter

Amy Adams is in final negotiations to star opposite Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter, which David O. Russell is directing for Relativity Media and Paramount. Adams will play Charlene, a tough, gritty bartender and former college high-jumper from Massachusetts who ends up dating Mickey, the boxer played by Wahlberg. Melissa Leo has also joined. It was only confirmed just a few weeks ago that David O. Russell would be directing this instead of Darren Aronofsky. Adams' casting only sweetens the deal, I just really hope that Russell doesn't screw this up like he did Nailed. Hopefully he just sticks to the script.

The Fighter follows the true story of Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) and how he went on to win the lightweight championship with the help of his half-brother Dicky (Bale). Eklund once fought Sugar Ray Leonard and nearly went the distance against the boxing legend before forfeiting his career to drugs and crime. He redeemed himself by training Ward through his Rocky-like run to the title. I really love Amy Adams and usually go out of my way to see her (except in movies like Night at the Museum 2 or Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day). I'm glad she is challenging herself with a "gritty" role this time. Shooting starts this summer.
